Double Trouble Wooden Puzzle by Constantin (or Double Gear Maze Puzzle by Constantin and Recent Toys) is another amazing work of the inventive designer.
Jean-Claude Constantin definitely likes to tease our brain with his tricky, complex and flawless puzzles and mazes, and this one is not an exception.
Main Features
The puzzle is two gear mazes attached to the third one. It actually reminds me of an owl’s eyes. They are the wooden and acrylic circles with metal balls inside.
Unlike the Minotaur Labyrinth, you don’t need to hold anyone in it but you need to extract the balls out of the mazes at the same time. There is a starting point indicated on the puzzle.
The maze comes in the wooden box with the plastic window. The manufacturer doesn’t provide the solution, leaving you on your own. I like this fact, it gives no chance to cheat.
The company states that the estimated assembly time is around 8 hours, though it depends on your skills and experience.
Conclusion
I find this kind of puzzle a real “happy medium”. It’s not that pricey and not that easy to solve. So you need to make efforts to find a solution.
Double Trouble would be a great present to a person who likes to develop strategies, use their logics and spatial skills or to someone who lacks it…Like me, for example.

Repairing the Double Trouble Puzzle
On a rare occurrence — there might be a manufacturing issue with Double Trouble when the maze is not assembled in the right way. If you compare your puzzle with the image on the box and align the exit holes the same way it is on the picture — it should be completely the same. If the maze looks different — it means there was a manufacturing issue.
It is a fairly easy fix — all you need to do is to unscrew the screws on the back, take off the plastic lid and adjust the 2 mazes according to the picture on the box. The assemble the screws back.
