Visual Description
Global puzzle by SiamMandalay is a great piece that immediately caught my attention. It quite similar to previously reviewed Double Lock-a-Ball puzzle — it has a cool round shape that you need to take apart and reassemble.
The puzzle consists of 6 arcuate pieces with different notches on the narrow side. It is up to you to see which pieces fit together and eventually compile them into a sweet looking globe. And by “sweet looking” I mean it is really aesthetically pleasing. Kind of reminds me of globes in Dwemer dungeons in Skyrim (and it brings nostalgia, which is a big plus for me)
Main Features
The puzzle seem quite easy — you just need to identify the pieces that fit and gradually assemble the globe. Easy enough, if you ask me. The trick come when the 80% of the puzzle is completed and you need to figure out how to assemble the last few pieces and fit the right in the middle of the seemingly completed structure.
I won’t spoil the ending but the solution made me go “A-a-a-h, okay” when I finally understood what to do. Usually when the so called “moment of bliss” occurs to me — it means that the puzzle is at least worth the attention.
Conclusion
Simply wonderful puzzle that also will be looking great on your shelf. Many of SiamMandalay puzzles are aesthetically pleasing, but this is somehow special.
Definitely recommending this for both beginners and skilled puzzlers.
