This article reflects not 1, but 3 amazing puzzles by our favorite puzzle constructor Wil Strijbos.
Dovetail cubes are small 2-piece puzzles with a simple mechanism inside. The fun thing is that all 3 have almost identical appearance, apart from the color, but the ways of solving the cubes are quite different.
It is advised to solve those in succession (i.e. 1st, 2nd and then the 3rd one), but it might be more interesting if you try solving it backwards. The learning process of the mechanism changes quite a bit if you do so!
All 3 puzzles are marked with their respective number and Wil Strijbos’ signature.
Nevertheless, all 3 cubes are unique and will require individual approach to conquer.

So, we have 3 cubes:

The mechanism inside is not hard and, as you will be able to see, there are no additional notches or pins that you can pull or rotate. All you have is a cube and you need to open it.
There will be some hints in the end of this article, but the solution, to some extent, comes naturally and you will be able to solve all 3 cubes eventually, even if you don’t have a lot of experience with such kinds of puzzles.
What is great is the moment of solutions itself, the way the cubes are opened and the execution, amazing craftsmanship and clean and smooth movements are just amazing. Honestly, those get me every time I open any of the cubes.

Interesting Kit that I would advise purchasing and solving all together. There is just something about the aesthetics of these cubes, because I would be able to bear the idea of having only 1 or 2 out of 3.
