Designed by Wil Strijbos this puzzle already became a classic in the world of puzzling. The First Cylinder, as they call it, it combines the perfect design and great quality into a challenging, rewarding and unbelievably smooth puzzle.
It looks like a small cylinder with a lid that can be turned. The lid has a “V” mark on it and its up to you to understand what does that mean. Only after you get the true meaning behind the “V” mark — the puzzle can be considered solved.

Like many other Wil Strijbos’ puzzle, such as Lotus Puzzle, the mechanism inside The First Cylinder is completely hidden from your eyes and is open to your imagination.
To solve the puzzle you will need to imagine what happens inside. What does that weird sound means? What happens when you turn the lid? Nobody knows, but you will need to magically understand that to actually solve the puzzle.
Sounds hard enough? It is, but it is not impossible. The understanding will gradually come to you the more time you spend on it.
Conclusion
Very simple, yet smooth design, awesome mechanism and countless hours of fun and struggle for every puzzle lover.
An absolute classic that every fan should have on their shelf, though I would love to see it having a bit more to it. A few more hidden moves or compartments would make this my absolute favorite.
