Visual Description
Continuing the theme of dexterity puzzle that are not only hard and complex, but also look like an art masterpiece in a museum — Tycho puzzle by Craighill is the latest addition to the line up.
Made out of beautiful stainless steel and brass — this combination creates an amazing amalgamation of silver and copper colors. It actually looks especially good when seated in-between Venn (which is purely steel) and Jack (which is purely brass) — that way Tycho can be perceived as a link between the two.
The puzzle itself is a 4.5 cm cube that consists of 8 parts: 4 steel and 4 brass. As always the puzzle is not about the disassembly — it takes roughly 12 seconds to take it apart.
, you will probably spend a few hours trying to put all 8 pieces back together. The solution to the puzzle might initially seem obvious, but upon closer inspection there are nuances, asymmetries, and interferences that prevent a simple stacked approach.

Main Features
The funniest thing about Craighill dexterity puzzles is that all of them actually seem super easy. But the very moment you take them apart you start wondering how to put it back together.
The shapes and asymmetric peculiarities of all parts are designed to take you by surprise and leave you wondering.
Tycho is not the hardest one of the line-up. Despite the biggest amount of parts — it is somewhat, yet again, in-between Venn (which is easier) and Jack (which is way-way harder).

Conclusion
Great concept and one more cool approach to an interesting topic of dexterity puzzles. Certainly, Tycho is an amazing piece that will look awesome on your desk.
Great gift for someone you truly respect.

Tips and Tricks
- There is no immediate solution to this puzzle. It can be assembled in a few different ways, the fastest one would be to assemble 2 halves of the cube first and then combine them together. It might get a bit tricky as you will need to take on half of the cube and turn it upside down at one point — there is a big chance it will crumble.
- You can also try stacking the parts one by one. This is a much slower process and you will also need to keep one hand on the stacked construction all the time to ensure it does not fall apart. The main goal here is to assemble the full cube leaving 2 last brass parts for the last. In the end — carefully insert both brass parts in the cavities to complete the cube. Just in case — it sounds way easier than it actually is.

12 seconds to take it apart ?? I am trying hard to take apart mine since days… nothing moves. Maybe a defect model ?
Hmm… Sounds really weird, cause it’s really easy to take apart, just spin it and it’s done
