Visual Description
The Heart in Heart puzzle by Wil Strijbos is a great looking piece that is a bit different in style. That sets it apart from other puzzles by Wil, such as Lotus Puzzle or First Cylinder and makes it look more like something from Hanayama line-up.
The main piece is a brass casing with a small aluminum heart embedded inside.
Safe to say the quality is amazing, the best part is that the brass casing fits well with the aluminum heart and the combination creates an amazing aesthetic feel.
Main Features
The puzzle is sequential, meaning that after you have figured out how to get the small heart out of the brass case — you will also have the opportunity to try taking apart the aluminum heart piece, which actually consists of another 3 small pieces.
I have to be honest, the part with releasing the aluminum heart from the casing took me quite some time, and I am not sure whether banging the puzzle on the table was the correct solution process.
The taking apart of the aluminum heart reminded me of the notorious Cast Trinity Hanayama puzzle that gives me nightmares to this day.
Of course the aluminum heart was much easier to take apart, the mechanism there is quite easy overall (I still banged it a bit, but I don’t think it is required)
Conclusion
Interesting approach and definitely a great piece by Wil Strijbos.
I have to admit it was fun and exciting, the full journey of the disassembly and taking back the Heart in Heart was surprisingly well paced and the solution is just beautiful.
Great puzzle for every collector and fan of Wil’s work.

The correct solution is body heat. Your body heat causes the brass casing to expand slightly and allows the aluminium heart to slide out effortlessly 🙂
Nice version ?
That is indeed right. Idea is that you keep the heart in your closed handpalm for a while so that the metal warms up a bit and the heart is released. A tender heart does NOT need banging and smacking on the table! Use this heartwarming solution instead please. 🙂
