Visual Description
World Globe by Enjoy the Wood is not exactly a globe in a usual understanding of this term. Basically this is an icosahedron — a geometric shape with 20 sides. It does resemble a globe in a low polygonal understanding. 🙂
What is amazing about this puzzle is that it is actually quite easy to assemble. It will take you no more than 60 minutes to put it together from the very start to end.
There are 2 different color variations of this puzzle: light and dark. Both are of amazing quality and it actually depends on your interior which one to choose.
Main Features
The model is not an accurate representation of the world, as you may have understood already: there are quite a few details missing, especially some small islands. Nevertheless, Enjoy the Wood say that you can always contact them upon making a purchase, and they will include the needed islands and/or countries if you really need them.
I have to say that is an amazing example of a good service.
There is also a possibility to engrave your logo or the logo of your company on the globe to truly fit it to the interior of your office — fantastic!
The manual for the assembly is very clear and you shouldn’t have any troubles putting the globe together. There are just a few tricky parts and it is also very important to pay close attention to the parts that you are connecting — otherwise you will need to reassemble the parts.
Unlike many 3D Wooden Puzzles the manual actually requires you to use glue. I can’t say that is a bad thing. Gluing the parts together is a great way to make sure your model will hold firmly for a long time and won’t break apart even if it falls.
Conclusion
Interesting concept and definitely an eye candy for your working table or an office. Great conversation starter, as I don’t think that many people saw a 20-sided world globe ever in their lives.
The quality is superb, I did not expect less from the creators of amazing 3D World Maps.
Interesting model and an amazing gift to someone who is travelling a lot.
