Visual Description

There are quite a few different 3D Wooden Puzzle models and Puzzle Boxes we have reviewed so far, and all of them are unique and have their own gimmicks that anybody would like.

ROKR decided to keep up with the trend and released their own puzzle box with its own unique features.

The puzzle itself is not entirely hard and it takes just a few hours to assemble. The size of the end product is actually a little bit small. I was anticipating a bigger box, but the quality is very good — the assemble was fast and there were no holdups because of the poorly crafted parts or anything like that.

The visual representation of the box is superb — the ornaments and the mechanism have a simple, yet interesting design and the idea behind it. Definitely an eye candy of you likes wooden trinkets.

Finally, the instruction is very good with descriptive images and clear schematics, so anyone will be able to successfully assemble the piece, even a complete newbie.

Main Features

The main feature of the box is, of course, the mechanism that has two major aspects:

• The main hatch is encoded with 3 digits. You can reset the code and make it to be any 3 digits you want.
• Secret compartments inside the box can be opened with the special key that you will assemble yourself.

The compartments inside are quite small so don’t expect keys or watch to fit in there. It is more fitted for rings or earrings, a few coins, or a folded piece of paper.

Comparison with Amber Box by UGEARS

Amber Box by UGEARS is obviously bigger and has the emphasis on the luxury feel. Amber box does not have any coded compartments, so this puzzle box will not be suitable if you’d want to store something precious inside so that no one can see it.

Price-wise ROKR Treasure box is much more favourable and also easier to assemble.

Comparison with Treasure Box by Ugears

As I was mentioning in the UGEAR’s Treasure Box review — it is a downgraded version of a Safe with the emphasis on cuteness.

ROKR Treasure Box successfully combines the beauty of Ugears’ treasure box and also incorporates the features of a Safe.

Definitely better if you are among both beauty and functionality.

Conclusion

An interesting model that successfully combines a nice looking design and a functional encoded treasure box.

Definitely better than Treasure Box by Ugears, albeit they look almost identical. The winning point for me was the code and the cool looking key that you can use to open secret compartments.

Price-wise it’s a winner as well.
